PI8 Basics #4: The Document Manager
Access the Document Manager by clicking its button in the Panel Manager. It's
the third one from the top. The Document Manager lets you select from images
currently open in the work space.

To select a group of images in a row, click on one, then hold down on the Shift key and click on the last image in the row. To select multiple images which aren't in a row, click one to select, then hold down on the Ctrl key to select other images.
Note that the Global Viewer button lets you see the selected image at various magnifications. The little button with a right-facing arrow is the Quick Command Manager. Click its down arrow and choose to apply any Task in the Quick Command Panel to selected images.

The Batch Manager button lets you access menu commands that can be applied to a selected image or images. Click the down arrow to access its menu. Each menu command has its own related flyout menu.

The Sort button allows you to sort through the images open in the work space by selected criteria.

Thumbnail Size lets you change the default thumbnail size.

Like the other Panels in the Panel Manager, the Document Manager can be resized by dragging on its borders. You can minimize or "roll it up" by double clicking on its blue title bar and drag it to a convenient area in the work place to get it out of your way. Double click on the blue title bar again to maximize it.
