PI6 QuickTip #9: Effect, Special, Monochrome
If you like to colorize or tint photos, you will love this new feature. I'm starting with this old, True Color scanned photo. Because this command changes your image, choose Edit, Duplicate, Base Image Only so you don't save edits to your original image. Close out the original image and use the duplicate.
Choose Effect, Special, Monochrome. Instantly the image turns into what appears to be a Grayscale image, but the image retains all of its RGB color information.
Now you can selectively color with the Paint tools, especially the Colorize Pen.
Do not duplicate, translate, copy, archive, appropriate or redistribute this document.
